X Factor returns to the Arenas with performances good and bad

The X Factor we all know and love returned to our screens this past weekend as once again we got to see some of the best talent to make it through the audition stage do their stuff on stage at Wembley arena.

The highlight of the show came from Welshman Jay James after his cover of Coldplay's Fix You. The entire 5000 strong Wembley crowd was on its feet after giving James rapturous applause and he got the crowning glory of Simon singing his praises by saying "I think we’ve found someone really special."

The most random act of the night came during a performance by Paul Akister of the hit Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye. During the song, both Mel B and Cheryl Cole got up and spontaneously gate Simon a lap dance. Akister is back this year for another crack at the X Factor title and Simon and Louis got into an argument about whether or not Louis made a huge mistake last year by sending him packing.

Other performances of note at Wembley came from Andrea Faustini who absolutely nailed Otis Redding's Try a Little Tenderness and Kayleigh Manners had to overcome a dose of the nerves before giving a more than decent performance of Elton John's Your Song. Stevi Ritchie also built on his funny audition where he had forgotten the words to Olly Murs' hit Dance With Me Tonight and he had to improvise by dancing for the judges instead. Ritchie sang Queen's Don't Stop Me Now to the fans delight.

More on the questionable side of things falls Rouge Kiss who Simon described as terrible as an overall group and "more like Yorkshire Terriers wanting to be an Alsatian." It wasn't all bad for Simon though during their performance of Iggy Azalea’s Fancy as Kiss member Yasmina caught his eye enough to say "Yasmina, you’re the only one I see is any good." X Factor returns this Saturday and Sunday for more fun and games.
