What a lady

It’s no secret that Lady Gaga has no problem hanging around with the proles, and has been spotted in pubs all over England ordering drinks for everyone and generally acting like a complete don. But now she’s outdone herself with her latest effort: striking up a song for a newly married couple. Great stuff.

Kiwi backpackers Ewan and Julie Searle were celebrating their newlywed status with a drink in a pub in West London when the new Queen of pop rolled up with her entourage. After finding out about the pair, she said ‘that calls for a song’.

‘It was unbelievable,’ said the new Mrs Searle. ‘We were toasting our future by drinking champagne and beer with some guys we met in the hostel we were staying at. Then Lady GaGa, dressed in this fabulous cerise dress, came in with her entourage. She stood at the bar and ordered a drink for everyone.

‘She asked if anyone could play the guitar. A French friend called Sam - one of the guys from the hostel - rushed back to get his.

‘After he came back he spoke with her and her people and they played Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones for us in the back room. She was really cool but her entourage stopped anyone recording it. I would have liked a reminder, but then I'm sure I'll never forget it.’
