UFO Sighting Found in South Pole

UFO sightings are seen all over the world by UFO enthusiasts every year. So far this year one of the more well-known sightings was made by Russian UFO enthusiast Valentin Degterev who spotted a black mark in the South Pole while searching on Google Earth. He claims that, “in amongst the endless ice desert, it is the most genuine UFO in its most classic shape.”

The satellite image that he came across was taken on February 15, 2012, and in June 2015 he published the co-ordinates online where it went viral on the Russian social media site, VK. The sight can be found at the co-ordinates 80°34'08.4"S 30°05’19.3"W on Google Earth.

In the image there seems to be a disk like shape that is around 65 feet wide and 230 feet across which Degterev believes is a “man-made object from the distant cosmos” and “is definitely not a polar station nor a plane as there aren’t any airplanes or helicopters this big in the world.”

Andrew Fleming from the British Antarctic Survey told the MailOnline that it is simply a crevasse in the ground. The light blue tinge that is seen is the bare ice, he explains, and the dark area is simply a shadow or fissure.

Once you have a look, you can decide for yourself whether this could be a UFO or simply a natural phenomenon. There are bound to be more UFO sightings and conspiracy theories throughout the year, so keep your eyes and ears open. You never know what you might come across.
