The word of God

Justin Bieber’s quest for world domination is now nearing completion: you know you’re a big star when a change of haircut gets you on the TV news, billed just after the revolution in Libya, and it can’t be long before he’s pushing Colonel Gheddafi from the top slot.

But what kind of message does the phenomenon want to spread with his worldwide fame? Sex, drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll? Socialism? The inevitable rise of a new super race, all moulded in his image? No; Bieber wants to spread the message of God to his fans. Not a cool serpent god that will eat everyone’s first born, either; rather the boring old beardy Christian God. Bah. Surely it can’t be long before he goes crazy and blows all his money on prostitutes and cocaine, can it?

‘I think about all the things I didn't have time to think about during the day,' he said. 'like family and God and things that should be more important but you don't have time to think about because you just get caught up during the day.

‘I feel I have an obligation to plant little seeds with my fans. I'm not going to tell them, ‘You need Jesus’, but I will say at the end of my show, ‘God loves you’.’
