The sweet smell of a lawsuit

Britney Spears has worked hard since 'hairshaving-gate' to make a return to the pop world; indeed the comeback has been so successful that gossip rarely revolves around her 'wobbly' moment back in 2008. However, Brit's impressive return has been dealt a blow with the news that Spears has been sued for $10m over her perfume deal with Elizabeth Arden. The singer has been accused of fraud, deciet and breach of contract, by trying to evade the deal agreed with the licensors of the perfume, Brand Sense. Phew, some pretty hefty allegations there, Britters.

The Daily Mail reports that court documents state, 'Britney secretly made a separate deal with Elizabeth Arden in a sneaky underhanded effort to circumvent and evade its obligations to Brand Sense...Effectively, Britney improperly and illegally cut Brand Sense out of the Elizabeth Arden deal.'

According to the paper, Britney's dad, who still oversees her business affairs, 'complained that the commission was too high and said that Britney did not want to pay it'. Just a hunch, but the old 'I didn't want to' line, might not stand up in court...
