Teaser trailer from Tron sequel Tr2n

For anyone who grew up in the 80s, Tron is considered an absolute classic. It wowed audiences back in the day with its innovative use of computer graphics showcased in the now legendary light cycle scene. But above all Tron had a great storyline and cast to back up the stunning visual effects.

Now Disney has announced that it is set to release a sequel to the cult classic entitled Tr2n. Surprise footage from the new film was aired at the San Diego Comic Convention over the weekend. Thanks to modern technology someone was able to film the teaser and post it on YouTube for all the world to see. The footage from the trailer looks really impressive recreating the aesthetic of the original film.

Original star Jeff Bridges reprises his original role as Kevin Flynn but there also appears to be an older and now evil character played by Bridges. Is it Flynn corrupted by power after becoming the chief executive of ENCOM? The script is said to have been penned by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz from Lost, so here's hoping it doesn't do a Lucas and stomp all over our cherished childhood memories.
