Stephen Fry: Twitter Quitter

Social networking site Twitter has gone into meltdown after Stephen Fry announced that he may quit because a tweeter called his tweets ‘boring’.

It all started on Saturday (31 Oct) at 2pm GMT when Stephen Fry posted the tweet; "You've convinced me. I'm obviously not good enough. I retire from Twitter henceforward. Bye everyone." This was quickly followed by; "Think I may have to give up on Twitter. Too much aggression and unkindness around. Pity. Well, it's been fun."

Fry, who has been one of the major advocates of Twitter and is followed by over 900,000 people, said his reaction was caused by a jovial tweet from user @brumplum who described the actor come presenter’s tweets as “a bit boring”.

Since the announcement many celebs on Twitter have waded in begging for Fry to reconsider, including Chris Evans, Alan Davies and Jonathan Ross.
