Spice Girls break new record

It’s official! The Spice Girl’s comeback single has well and truly flopped.

Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) is the girls’ Children in Need charity effort – a selfless piece of philanthropy, timed perfectly to draw attention to their imminent World Tour.

Radio 1 bosses deemed the song so poor it was relegated to the station’s C-list, an uncomfortable bedfellow with Scooch’s latest effort.

So far a scant 5278 copies of the single have sold and that’s including easy-access digital versions. And this on the back of poor sales for their Greatest Hits album… ouch.

What’s going on? Media hype is gushing yet their sales figures are looking grim. Surely they haven’t lost their spicy edge, have they?
