Something evil's lurking in the dark

This week seems to be the week when crackpots or poor, deluded folk turn to the noble shyster’s art of the séance, where people who call themselves ‘psychics’ pretend to contact the dead in order to sooth the raw stinging emotions of the emotionally bereaved. Sometimes money changes hands, although having never been daft enough to go to one it would be tricky to know how much one might theoretically cost.

Anyway, following confirmed con-artist Derek Acorah’s televised attempt to contact the King of Pop from beyond the grave and yesterday’s story of the doctor allegedly involved in Anna Nicole-Smith’s death getting involved in similar silliness in private, it’s now the turn of Lisa Marie Presley to try and contact Michael Jackson.

‘He seemed to be on a mission to reach out to people in his life and be forgiven,’ said Presley’s friend Karen Faye, who was with her when she ‘contacted’ Jackson last week. ‘Michael spent his time explaining his faults and wanting us to forgive him. He seemed unsettled.

‘He seemed more jovial with Lisa. The psychic turned to me and said Michael is telling me, ‘You took such good care of me, and I am so sorry I hurt you so much’. He said he should have listened to me more. It hit me straight in the heart.

‘There were definite, deep insights that would have been difficult to make up. It was detailed about the inner dynamics of his family and his levels of pain and emotional inability.’ Of course it was.
