X Factor mogul Simon Cowell has come clean and said that he 'wasn't sure' of new X Factor judges Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw. However, after a settling in period Cowell is now convinced that the duo will do a fantastic job on the show.
Simon even contemplated calling up X Factor veteran Louis Walsh to come and save the day during the early days. He told The Sun "Normally whenever we have anyone new in I'm on the phone to Louis within three hours to replace them. I'm sure he had his bags packed at the front door."
However, after a little while both Ora's and Grimshaw's personalities began to shine through and Cowell realised he was onto a winner. He said of Ora "Rita’s a bit of a ditz, but it’s part of her personality. What I like about her is that she’s not afraid to admit that."
He added "She doesn't say something and then scream at the producers to edit it out. She can poke fun at herself." He also had some interesting words about Grimshaw saying "People have always said to me that he's like everyone’s best friend and I didn’t work it out until I met him. He’s like a really friendly dog, really friendly, he always wants to be stroked and be happy."
X Factor kicks off on our screens on the on ITV later this year and the new trailer has warned us to expect the unexpected. Ora, Grimshaw and Cowell will be joined by Cheryl Fernandez-Versini to cast their eyes over the best musical talent that the UK has to offer while an all new presenting team is in place with Olly Murs dovetailing off Caroline Flack.
