Salford here I come!

As someone said on the Guardian’s media page ‘I defy anyone anywhere to find a child today who gives a monkey's about the Blue Peter garden - whether there is one, whether there was one, where it goes’. Sadly, they’re probably right, but for a certain generation of us it’s a thing of childhood nostalgia.

The famous Blue Peter Garden has long been based at BBC TV Centre in White City but plans have been announced to move it to the new HQ in Salford in Manchester. The BBC is deciding whether the new site will feature a sunken garden or if it will move some of it's famous features such as the pond as well as many of the hundred or so time capsules that are buried in it.

What is known though is that it’ll be on the roof of the new BBC building.
