Russell to cut his hair for Hollywood?

Just days after admitting that he has fallen head over heels in love with Katy Perry, Russell Brand has talked about cutting off his trademark scruffy locks to further his Hollywood career.

The Essex-born comedian told reporters that: 'I can't keep always playing long-haired, scruffy men, otherwise my career would be limited.'

While Brand's cinematic roles to date have seen him basically play himself, e.g. Flash Harry in St Trinian's and Aldous Snow in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the 34-year-old admitted that he may have to chop his mop if he is to fulfill his dream of playing Napoleon Bonaparte.

'I was hoping one day to play Napoleon, but I can't play Napoleon as this shaggy-haired, bearded raconteur,' Brand said. 'But I did also want to play Rasputin, so that'll be good, I can look like this.'

A year on from the infamous Sachsgate affair Russell's film career has gone from strength to strength with the celebrity swordsman set to star in a remake of the Dudley Moore classic 'Arthur' as well as appearing as Trinculo alongside Helen Mirren in an adaptation of Shakespeare's 'The Tempest'.
