Royal Wedding wins the ratings battle

The marriage of Kate and William was, unsurprisingly, the most watched TV event of the year.

26.2 million viewers tuned in to watch the Royal Wedding across BBC1, ITV1, BBC News channel and Sky. The BBC's coverage had the most viewers, with 13.4 million of the share.
