News that Mel B will not be appearing on the 2015 season of X Factor has sparked a lot of speculation as to will replace Scary Spice on the show. Early indications, as well as favourable comments from Simon Cowell, suggest that Rita Ora could be favourite to make her debut as a judge on X Factor 2015.
Cowell, who has praised Ora in the past, has insisted that the fact that she has been a hit on The Voice matters very little. He said "When it comes to asking her over, you know, it's fair game" intimating that he would have no qualms about poaching the right talent from a rival show and rival network.
Ora will face possible competition from the likes of former judge Tulisa as well as One Direction's Louis Tomlinson who made a brief appearance last year helping Mel B coach for the Live Acts. Another outside bet for a spot in one of the judge's chair could be former X Factor guest judge Katy Perry who is box office in terms of being a star attraction.
A spokesperson for the X Factor insists that the key to keeping the show topping the TV ratings is to mix it up each year. As such, we are not able to bet our houses on Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole returning this year and until the final judge line-up is announced we will have to just cross our fingers that they will.
Things are also getting a shake-up on the presenter front as Dermot O Leary leaves to be replaced by Olly Murs and Caroline Flack. However, no matter how much of a favourite Ora is to replace Mel B, comments from Cowell just a couple of weeks ago still remain true when he said "We’re all over the place with X Factor as usual, nothing has been decided. Nobody has signed yet". Watch this space X Factor fans...
