No patience!

There’s something comforting about watching daytime drivel such as Jeremy Kyle’s chatshow/freakshow [delete where applicable]: knowing that there’s someone out there worse off than you are can put spring in your step. But not according to patients at two NHS hospitals who have had the show banned after complaining.

The Mirror have reported that Aintree Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has responded to two patient complaints and stopped showing the programme in communal areas.

‘Patients have a right to a calm atmosphere. Some will be very apprehensive in waiting rooms and we have to be sensitive to how they feel’ said an NHS spokesperson.

‘It was the constant arguing between guests on the show which was upsetting people, some of whom were ill and did not appreciate the bickering.’

Suddenly life confined to a hospital bed doesn't sound so bad.
