Paul Danan, former Hollyoaks hunk and Celebrity Love Islander, has been sacked from the lead role in Jack and the Beanstalk in Preston. Why? Paul walked on to the stage before turning on the Christmas lights in the city centre and exhorted the crowd of families and pensioners to ‘make some motherf*****g noise’.

Oh, Paul. You really are a nincompoop.

In spite of fevered apologies, saying he was simply trying to invigorate a quiet crowd, a local Councillor described his rock and roll outburst as ‘a disgrace and an insult to the people of Preston’.

Further embarrassment followed when young Paul was hit with an on-the-spot £80 fine from local bobbies, to whom shocked parents had complained. One upside for the people of Preston, though – Paul is no longer the lead in Jack and the Beanstalk.
