Who’s (or what’s) the best movie monster?

Best of the Web Buzz has posted a blood-curdling list of 31 of the best movie monsters. We’re not sure about the choices – The Creature from the Black Lagoon is number one – but what’s most scary about the majority of these monsters is that they never seem to die.

While King Kong (no 2 on the list) has spawned a mere two remakes and three sequels, the Halloween series boasts eight films (so far) – and as for Friday the 13th and its spin-offs, it’s 11 and counting. In fact, one thing you can be sure of when you see a horror film is that the same monster material will carry on being recycled for many years to come.

Frightening stuff.
