Fans of the Terminator films have been given their first glimpse of the fourth installment of the series: Terminator Salvation. Even though filming only started in May, a teaser trailer from the film appeared today on YouTube.

Terminator Salvation features Christian Bale as John Connor, the leader of Tech-Com, the resistance movement which is battling for the survival of humanity against Skynet. The film is set in post-nuclear holocaust 2018 and focuses on the original war between man and machine.

The 54 second trailer is really impressive, featuring grainy footage of the gritty reality of the post-apocalyptic future. Terminator Salvation is set to be released in May 2009. But if you can't wait until then check out the video below.
