Singer Kylie Minogue is to receive an OBE in the New Years Honours list. Erm…pardon? OK, so she’s quite entertaining and has a few catchy songs, but does she really deserve this award? We can’t really see the Queen watching Kylie flashing her bum in a pair of hot pants and saying ‘We are amused!’ Maybe this was one for Wills and Harry…

Others on the list include chat show host, Michael Parkinson and Professor Ian Wilmot, who cloned Dolly the sheep.  Kylie said from her Melbourne home ‘I am almost as surprised as I am honoured.’  Well, that’s still slightly less surprised than us.

So who’s next…Anne ‘Madge Bishop’ Charleston for her services to soap operas?  Who knows?
