Once known as the most famous virgin in Hollywood – maybe the ONLY virgin in Hollywood – Britney Spears could be up to play the most famous virgin in history.

According to reports, Britney could star as the Virgin Mary (yes, that’s right, Mother of God and all that) in the new film Sweet Baby Jesus. The film is a satirical retelling of the nativity story, where the 19-year-old pregnant Mary is a little unsure of the father of her child. 

The film’s producer, Philippe Rebboah, says: "I had to convince my partners because they were like, 'Oh, no. Britney?' But I thought it was brilliant. It's a bit ironic that she would play the Virgin Mary, no?"

Ironic? We don’t think that’s the word the millions of Christians out there will be using…
