Naomi Campbell injured in Paris mugging

It’s come to light nearly a month after the events in question that Naomi Campbell was violently mugged in Paris. The incident left her with a torn ligament in her leg and temporarily confined to a wheelchair.

The British supermodel was allegedly hailing a taxi in the French capital when she was "knocked over and robbed" reported the New York Post. While there is no clear idea as to what was actually stolen from her, a source told the American tabloid that Campbell believes "the assailant had been watching her, casing her out, and waited for a moment to strike when she was alone." One does have to wonder if they knew who they were dealing with if it wasn’t pure opportunism as Campbell is notorious for violent bouts of diva like behaviour.

Campbell's billionaire boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin flew her out to Colorado immediately after the assault, where she was treated by leading orthopaedic surgeon J. Richard Steadman. Her leg seems to have been particularly badly hurt after she was manhandled to the ground. Over recent weeks, the 42-year-old supermodel has been seen sporting crutches and using a motorised wheelchair as she recovers from the physical trauma.

The injury did however prevent Naomi from taking her usual trip to Roman Abramovich's lavish New Year's Eve party in St Barts, where the oligarch dropped millions on entertaining power broker like Rupert Murdoch, George Lucas, Brian Grazer and Harvey Weinstein. Campbell apparently was reduced to hosting her own do on Miami's Star Island.

Both Campbell and her agent have declined to comment on the matter, with Campbell politely telling the New York Post (one of Murdoch’s US papers) : "I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine."

Since the attack, she has been tweeting inspiring messages and gearing up for the launch of her TV show “The Face.”
