Model behaviour

Hands up if you've heard Gisele's controversial parenting comments? No? Here's a quick recap. According to the supermodel, labour is called labour because it's not a holiday. She meditated throughout her hiccup-free home birth and quite frankly can't see what all the fuss is about. Not getting fat whilst in the family way is simply a matter of not 'turning into a garbage disposal unit'. And breastfeeding? All new mothers should be forced to do it for the first 6 months.

While we may have some sympathy with some of Gisele's musing (some of them are common sense) she doesn't have the friendliest bedside manner. Real mothers are furious. Hence, Gisele's 'people' have penned an 'I didn't quite mean it like that' monologue. GB says:

'My intention in making a comment about the importance of breastfeeding has nothing to do with the law. It comes from my passion and beliefs about children. Becoming a new mom has brought a lot of questions, I feel like I am in a constant search for answers on what might be the best for my child. 'I am sure if I would just be sitting talking about my experiences with other mothers, we would just be sharing opinions,' she writes. I understand that everyone has their own experience and opinions and I am not here to judge. I believe that bringing a life into this world is the single most important thing a person can undertake and it can also be the most challenging. I think as mothers we are all just trying our best.'

Yes, we bet the ice maiden wrote it herself. Now if you'll excuse her she's got a dirty nappy - sorry, her nanny's got a dirty nappy to change.....
