May the Firth be with you (again?)

After Colin Firth’s Golden Globe triumph, he has been installed as favourite for his first Oscar, as The King’s Speech grabbed a whopping 12 nominations for this year’s Academy Awards.

The film was pipped to almost all of the big awards by The Social Network at the Golden Globes, but if the cast and crew, including co-stars Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush, pick up gongs they probably won’t be bothered any more.

‘It's great, and it's the fact that so many of us are there - a royal flush. It's a bit out of body,’ said Firth. ‘It's a wonderful, orbiting-the-earth's-atmosphere feeling.’
