Lindsay tweets her innocence

Lindsay Lohan has found herself in another heap of trouble, after being accused of stealing a gold necklace, and diamond earrings from a fancy LA jewellers. On the plus side, though, Lindsay was looking remarkably well as she entered court, clad in a white mini-dress, which sold out hours after the star was pictured wearing it. See? There's always a silver lining in Hollywood-ville.

Defending herself against the accusations, Lindsay tweeted to her followers, 'I would never steal, in case people are wondering, I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal... also, what i wear to court shouldn't be front page news. it's just absurd.'

Lindsay's lawyer stated, 'Ms Lohan maintains her innocence, and now that I've seen the police reports, I believe the case is entirely defensible. Having said that, we will entertain a discussion concerning a plea if it means no jail so that she can move forward with her recovery and her career.'

According to a police report, just four days before Lindsay was accused of stealing a necklace, the actress attempted to abscond from the same shop with a pair of diamond earrings, 'Ms Lohan gathered her things and started to leave the jewellery store without making a purchase. Ms Lohan's hair was flipped to one side covering the diamond earring. [The clerk] stopped her and reminded Ms. Lohan she was still wearing the earring. Ms Lohan laughed, admitted to her mistake and removed the earring from her ear and returned it to [the clerk].'
