Kristen apology may not work
Kristen Stewart’s apology does not seem to have saved her relationship with Robert Pattinson. The Twilight star, looking glum in a baseball cap and Rolling Stones T-shirt, packed his bags and left the house the couple shared.
Stewart’s affair with Rupert Sanders, the director of the film Snow White And The Huntsman, in which Stewart starred, was exposed in the US tabloids. Stewart issued an apology:
"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," she wrote. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardised the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."
It sounds very sincere, but it has emerged that the apology was Pattinson’s idea. A Mirror source said: "Rob is devastated and deeply hurt. They spoke on the phone and he said 'You’ve completely humiliated me'. He still can’t fathom why she cheated. Kristen is begging for another chance. Robert is undecided."
With it looking increasingly unlikely that the relationship can recover from the fling, dedicated Twilight fans were taking to YouTube to reproach Stewart in fairly hostile terms, unable to believe that anybody could betray their beloved R Pattz.
Stewart, meanwhile, has to draw up another apology, to Liberty Ross, the wife of Sanders and, until recent revelations, a friend of Stewart’s. Perhaps she might like to save time and create a handy apology template on her iPad for future situations.
