Kate can't stand Titanic theme
Kate Winslet apparently has much the same reaction to hearing the Titanic theme tune as the rest of us – it makes her want to throw up.
She has admitted that when she hears the strains of Celine Dion's showstopper My Heart Will Go On, far from feeling the urge to rush to the prow of the nearest ocean-going liner and spread her limbs, Winslet feels nauseous.
Speaking to MTV news, the British actress said: "I wish I could say, 'Oh listen, everybody! It's the Celine Dion song!' but I don't. I just sit there, you know, kind of straight-faced with a massive internal eye roll".
Unfortunately she is dogged by the song wherever she goes. She can't walk into a bar or a restaurant without a cocktail pianist striking up a jaunty rendition. "It's thrilling for people to surprise me with the Celine Dion song," Winslet said, with gloomy resignation.
The 1997 blockbuster has been rereleased to cash in on, well the anniversary of the death of several hundred people. This time around audiences are being invited to witness those lovingly-reconstructed drownings in glorious 3D. “It feels like you're in it," Winslet said. You were Kate, remember, with Leonardo Di Caprio.
The director James Cameron admitted that adding a third dimension wasn't all that easy, for a film that was originally very two-dimensional. Some pernickety astronomer pointed out that the stars were in all the wrong positions, so that had to be fixed.
Still, if you had to find a director capable of realigning the heavens to suit his movie, it would probably be James Cameron.
