JK Rowling has completed the script for the first of a trilogy of Harry Potter spin off movies. The title for the new film will be Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. It will be set in New York about 70 years before the events that were depicted in the Harry Potter books.

The story will follow Newt Scamander, who fictionally penned the textbook Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, on his travels around the world. The book was a core part of the curriculum that Harry had to study while at Hogwarts. Newt was born in 1897 so the story will take place decades before Harry Potter was even born.

Producer David Heyman, who was producer for all 8 Harry Potter flicks, will be on board for the trilogy and he struggled to hide his excitement at the quality of writing Rowling has churned out. He said "It's early stages. David Yates is directing and we start filming next year. I'm just really excited about it."

Yates is also an experienced hand when it comes to bring Rowling's visions to life after directing the final 4 Harry potter movies. All in all it is shaping up like Harry Potter fans will have 3 huge dates in their diaries to get lost in Rowling's magical world on the big screen once again. Warner Brothers are planning to release the first film in November 2016 with the two follow up movies to follow in 2018 and 2020.
