Jennifer Lawrence to sue over dozens of nude leaked photos

Dozens of nude images have been published on website 4Chan of Hollywood superstar Jennifer Lawrence. Plenty of other celebrities have had personal images posted to the site too in what is being described as a mass hacking leak with hundreds of images of naked or scantily clad celebrities posted yesterday.

Lawrence along with other big names like Kirsten Dunst, Michelle Keegan, Kate Upton, Cara Delevigne, Ariana Grande, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Brook and Yvonne Strahovski were all horrified to learn that images they had stored on their iCloud accounts had somehow been hacked and leaked on 4Chan yesterday. It could prove tricky to find the responsible party in this case as many of the users of the site post anonymously.

A spokesperson for Lawrence has released a statement which reads: "The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence." adding that the hacker is after committing a "flagrant violation of privacy".

Twitter lit up with reaction to the leaked images and Jennifer Lawrence was trending in double quick time. Actress Mary Winstead, who also had sensitive images of her posted as part of the leak, tweeted her reaction to the events saying "To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves."

Another victim of the leak, actress Victoria Justice, also addressed the photos of her in circulation tweeting "These so called nudes of me are FAKE people. Let me nip this in the bud right now. *pun intended*." It seems that if there is a lesson to be learned here it is for everybody to ensure that they don't store sensitive materials on cloud accounts where they are susceptible to hackers getting their hands on them.
