Jackie O No!

If, like us, you glimpsed the pictures of Katie Holmes togged up as Jackie Kennedy while filming the biopic of JFK and thought, 'why, there's another made-for-tv gem, I bet it's brilliantly cheesy' and mentally saved it for the next cripplingly bad hangover - well, we have grim news for you. The project's been shelved after pressure from the still powerful Kennedy family. Poor old History Channel have been forced to pull the plug, and now only viewers in Canada will be able to watch the potential classic.

Katie told Elle magazine, 'Tom watched everything with me. He found it fascinating. I worked as hard as I could because I loved her. On set there was this feeling that we had to create something very special, because these people were very special.' Katie went on to talk about the lives of the Kennedy's in her usual earnest way, 'I loved her love of family, how important it was for her to be a good mother. The Kennedys were like movie stars. There was such a professionalism to their public image.'

The History Channel released a statement saying, 'While the film is produced and acted with the highest quality, after viewing the final product in its totality we have concluded this dramatic interpretation is not a fit for the History brand...' Better luck next time, Katie!
