Injunction lifted by Jeremy Clarkson

Jeremy Clarkson has dramatically unmasked himself as the celebrity who took out an injunction to prevent details of an alleged affair becoming public.

The Top Gear presenter, who at the time could only be described as a "married TV star" is alleged to have had an affair with his ex wife, Alex Hall, while he was married to his current wife, Francie.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Clarkson explained: "Injunctions don’t work. You take out an injunction against somebody or some organisation and immediately news of that injunction and the people involved and the story behind the injunction is in a legal-free world on Twitter and the internet. It’s pointless."

The 51-year-old presenter has become the second BBC celebrity to 'out himself' after obtaining a gagging order. Earlier this year, Andrew Marr revealed that he had taken out an injunction to hide details about an affair with a journalist.

This is not the first alleged infidelity that Clarkson's long-suffering wife Francie has had to deal with. It 2002, he was allegedly spotted passionately kissing television producer Elaine Bedell in a car, and more recently rumours have swirled about an affair with Phillipa Sage, an events organiser who was travelling with Clarkson for the International Top Gear Live Show.
