I’m a Celebrity… kicks off with punk no-show

This year’s jungle castaways have begun arriving in Australia, but the show’s organisers must be fuming that one of the most colourful, not to say most recognisable, contestants won’t be taking part after all.

Sex Pistols’ manager Malcolm Maclaren dropped out at the last minute after accusing the show of being “fake”, although organisers have claimed Malcolm bottled it because of his fear of spiders.

Full Fee-the-Fear marks went to Changing Rooms star Anna Ryder Richardson, who made a 1000-foot bungee jump into the jungle in spite of her fear of heights, declaring the experience “worse than childbirth”. Still, at least she hasn’t got to watch the thing…
