Great Scot! Eric Stoltz in Back To The Future
It’s common knowledge that Michael J. Fox wasn’t the original choice to play Marty McFly in Back To The Future, and that the role was intended for Eric Stoltz. Cuts of Stoltz as the time-travelling teen have never been seen by the general plebs, that is until now.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the first landmark adventure, the trilogy is being released on super deluxe Blue-Ray, and it’s packed with awesome features including two downgraded scenes starring Eric Stoltz. And it’s immediately clear that to bring in a new actor was definitely the right thing to do. However, the decision to give the role to Michael J.Fox was severely questioned at the time, as filming had already been going for 5 weeks.
