Daniel Craig is best Bond says Roger Moore
Daniel Craig is the best James Bond. Loyal fans of Sean Connery may disagree but that is the opinion of another former Bond, Roger Moore. The 84 year-old also thought that Craig had the best physique of any Bond.
It might be a little early to make any definitive judgements. Craig has only played Bond in two films so far, with the forthcoming Skyfall set to be the third. His predecessor is already impressed though. Talking to the BBC, Moore said "I loved Casino Royale and Daniel Craig. He is a wonderful actor, certainly the best actor to play Bond."
Moore, who has become something of an ironist in his old age, was recalling his own era in the Bond role, comparing it ruefully to his current condition. "Back then I could leap out of a chair without fear of my knees cracking, could chew a toffee without fear of losing a tooth; could admire my flowing locks and my bronzed, slim torso. With a twitch of the old eyebrow I set pulses racing across the world, they say. These days it's my pacemaker that keeps my pulse racing."
Craig has made such an impact in the Bond role that there is already a suggestion that he could become the longest-serving Bond actor, surpassing Moore’s record of seven films.
Skyfall producer Michael G Wilson said, "There's really no one more passionate about making these films work than him – he's a film maker's dream. A lot of people have said Daniel's been their favourite Bond since Sean Connery and I can't argue with them. He's doing a great job."
