Cheryl's visa woes

Yesterday brought the news that our Geordie lovely, Cheryl Cole, is to fly the coop for a $3m deal to judge US XFactor. Today however, brings rumours of a worrying kind - that Cheryl's past conviction for attacking a toilet attendent in a nightclub way back in 2003 could end her LA dreams.

A chatty lawyer who knows all about visa issues and celebrities (handily) told The Daily Mail, ‘If the conviction is for something that triggers ineligibility the person would have to appeal for a waive,' while 'more serious crimes could lead to permanent ineligibility'. Yikes.

However, a gushing XFactor source, ignoring the darker aspects of the story said, 'When Cheryl goes to America she will also launch her music career there too. It's the next part of her big plan, she's an incredibly hard worker and she will definitely get a boost by appearing on the X Factor, which is set to be a sure-fire hit.'
