Cheryl's abusive text to Cowell

Cheryl Cole has revealed details of her fury at being dropped from the judging panel for the US X Factor. In her autobiography, serialised in The Sun, Cheryl recalled the abusive text she sent to Simon Cowell after she heard the news.

The text read: “F**k you. F**k Britain's Got Talent. F**k the orange and purple outfit. F**k big hair. F**k the UK X Factor. F**k you all. I hate you. I understand you’re a businessman, and what I’ve learned from this is that business means more to you than friendship."

The references to the outfit and the big hair were among the reasons that US audiences found her presence a little alarming, although her Geordie accent was also a problem. Cowell told her, "the crazy hair goes tomorrow," after seeing the first taping of the show. Her angry response was "What happens to your f***ing hair, and when do you start being yourself?"

She said that Cowell was arrogant and distant at the taping. She was furious that he didn’t break the news that she had been sacked from the US show in person, instead delegating executive producer Richard Holloway to tell her the news. She vented her rage to her personal assistant. "I can’t get over the fact that 'big man' Simon, the same guy that told me I had the job and told me 'don’t wear that hair' couldn’t tell me I didn’t have the job! The coward didn’t even have the guts to phone or send a message warning me what was coming".

Cole eventually forgave Cowell but wasn’t in any hurry to work with him again.
