Cheryl Cole to host fashion-based show on Channel 4

Cheryl Cole looks set to return to British TV as the host of a fashion-based show which will air on Channel 4 according to reports in the tabloids today.

The Girls Aloud singer appeared to have put her television career on hold after the disappointment of being dropped from the X Factor USA judging panel at the last minute.

Rumours over the last few weeks had suggested that Cole was set to make a dramatic return to the X Factor UK judging panel at the expense of N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos.

However, it now appears that Cheryl is set to jump ship from ITV to combine her interest in fashion and presenting on a brand-new Channel 4 programme.

An unnamed source close to the 27-year-old spoke about the idea behind Cole's rumoured new project: 'Cheryl is hugely passionate about fashion — it's the thing she loves most after music.'

The mole continued: 'Channel 4 is working with her on a variety of ideas as what she's interested in doing is something with a bit more depth to it than just a frivolous fashion show.'

The Girls Aloud singer is hoping that the new show will allow her to showcase her growing range of talents and prove that is much more than just a singer.

'A lot of people only see Cheryl as a pop star who had a stint on The X Factor,' the mystery source told The Sun. 'But she has more strings to her bow and is raring to make a comeback.'

A spokesperson for Channel 4, however, has since made it clear that talks about a possible show with Cole are at an a very early stage and nothing concrete had been agreed to date.
