Cheryl Cole slams former protegée Cher Lloyd
After Cher LLoyd appeared to make fun of Cheryl Cole on a breakfast radio show, Cole was not about to sit back and take it.
Instead she tweeted a thinly veiled dig at her former protegée, saying: "Be Careful who you kick on your way up... They kick you twice as hard on your way back down."
She also added, "Unappreciation is ugly."
Lloyd, once dubbed "mini me" by Cole, was asked on the Real Breakfast for Real Radio North West show whether she would perform with her former mentor.
She replied: "Maybe if she sings live with me!"
She was then asked whether she thought that the prospect of singing live would be daunting for Cheryl, and replied: "Well it is nowadays, when you haven’t got the nifty little button to press!"
Presenter Debbie Oubsey asked Cher if she meant that Cheryl was relying on autotune, to which the teen laughed (somewhat sarcastically): "What, oh no? Never, never ever!"
In 2009, Cheryl caused some controversy when she appeared to be singing over a pre-recorded backing track in a performance of Fight For This Love on The X Factor.
Last weekend, Cher gave an interview with Fabulous Magazine and revealed that the Girls Aloud star hadn't kept in touch since The X Factor.
"Cheryl understood me and she helped me a lot and so it's sad that I haven't heard from her," she said."But if she wants to give me a ring she can. If not, that's fine too."
