Brooke leaps to Keifer's defence

The Keifer Sutherland headbutt story is getting as twisty and turny as an average episode of 24.

Last week the Jack Bauer actor was accused of nutting designer Jack McCollough at the Met Costume Gala. Witnesses claimed it was in defence of Brooke Shields who the designer had allegedly pushed. However Brooke's rep immediately denied the pushing, stating it was unclear why Keifer had done what he did (apart from that he'd had a skinful?) Well now seems Brooke has had a rethink, and come to the conclusion that Keifer was simply behaving like an off duty action hero afterall.

Shields claims that the original statement released on behalf of her was “neither true nor authorized” and that, “while at [the after-party at SubMercer,] Brooke was bumped into by Jack McCollough, and Kiefer Sutherland became concerned. Kiefer has always been a gentleman in her company.”

Keifer's reps (obviously) also claim their guy “was neither the instigator nor a wrongdoer in this incident.” In the meantime Keifer has been charged with 3rd degree assault and if convicted could be checking into the slammer for a full year. Ouch.
