Brangelina to tie the knot

Don’t hold your breath but Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie might be about to wed. Their Brangelina relationship has lasted 7 years, the couple have 6 children, 3 of them adopted, and, at last, Jolie has been spotted wearing an engagement ring.

A spokeswoman for Pitt confirmed there was substance in the rumours. "Yes, it's confirmed," she said. "It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There's no date set at this time."

In a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Pitt had admitted that marriage was a distinct possibility. "It seems to mean more and more to our kids," he said.

The activist couple had an agreement that they wouldn’t get married until gay couples in the USA had the same right. "We made this declaration some time ago that we weren't going to do it till everyone can,” Pitt said. "But I don't think we'll be able to hold out."

The couple could also be working together on a film very soon. Ridley Scott’s new film, The Counselor, has lead roles for Michael Fassbender and Javier Bardem, but there are also roles for Pitt and Jolie. The couple haven’t worked together since Mr And Mrs Smith 7 years ago, although that’s not necessarily because of the lukewarm reception that film received.

Pitt will play a small role, but Jolie will be one of the female leads. Pitt knows Scott from the very beginning of his career when the director cast him in Thelma and Louise.
