Black Eyed Peas Fergie ; turning tricks for a chunk of brass

Part singer, part waxwork, Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas has revealed she’s dead chuffed to be a bit of a slapper. That is, of course, as her role in the upcoming film adaptation of the musical ‘Nine’, where she’ll be playing the part of Saraghina (a prossie) alongside silver-screen heavyweights like Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz and Britain’s ‘finest senior acting lady except Helen Mirren, Judi Dench.

The frankfurter-lipped singer told Associated Press, "She's basically a prostitute on the beach. She introduces Day-Lewis' character to the world of sexuality. It's a very strong song.” Which is nice. She then Fergaliciously continued to give a deep insight into her role, adding, "I'm just thrilled I get to play a character...I'm going to be singing as a character, and that's what's really exciting to me." That’s the novel thing about acting… sometimes you occasionally get to play a character.

Just so we don’t take her too seriously as an actress and forget about her main talent, which is of course singing rather than enforced pouting, she then let slip a few details about the forthcoming Black Eyed Peas album. “It's a new sound," says Fergie. "We're going into the future. We're not doing the same old thing. We're not trying to copy what's out there on the radio. We're being artistic and pushing the envelope." Reports that the envelope-pushing album is to be called Rustle have not been confirmed. Because we just made that up.
