Aniston 'annoyed' at Pitt's comments

Jennifer Aniston is reported to have been none to pleased with the comments made by her ex-husband Brad Pitt who dubbed their five-year marriage boring.

'She [Aniston] was annoyed,' a friend of the Hollywood actress told US Weekly magazine. 'She thought the remarks were rude and inappropriate.'

Pitt's remarks were published last week during a candid interview he gave to Sunday Parade magazine in which he appeared to suggest that his life with Aniston had been uninteresting.

'I spent the '90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony', Pitt told Parade. 'I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic.'

The 'Fight Club' actor continued: 'It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't.'

Pitt later issued an official statement claiming that his comments had been misinterpreted and distorted by the media.

'It grieves me that this was interpreted this way,' the actor said. 'Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend.'

Pitt continued: 'It is an important relationship I value greatly. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself, and that, I am responsible for.'

Despite Pitt's apology US weekly claims that Aniston's agent and publicist reacted angrily to the interview.

'They got his team involved and Brad was read the riot act - the only way you can read the riot act to Brad Pitt,' a mystery source told the magazine.
