Amy Winehouse found dead aged 27

The singer Amy Winehouse was found dead earlier this afternoon in her flat in north London.

The 27-year-old’s body was discovered at 3.54pm by emergency services at her home in Camden. Police have said that Winehouse’s death is being treated as “unexplained”.

The troubled singer called off parts of her European tour last month following a shambolic concert in Serbia which saw her jeered by sections of the crowd.

Winehouse, from Southgate in north London, released her debut album ‘Frank’ back in 2003, but it was 2006’s ‘Back to Black’ which made the 27-year-old an international star.

The album went on to win five Grammys but Winehouse’s life became increasingly overshadowed by drink, drugs and personal problems.
