Gaga Hits Springfield

It seems to be a rite of passage for any celeb worth their salt – U2, Dolly Parton, Paul Mc Cartney and Britney Spears have all done it and now Lady Gaga is no exception. The oddball singer extraordinaire is set to become immortalised in yellow as a guest star on everybody’s favourite cartoon series ‘The Simpsons’.

The star will gracing the residents of Springfield with her presence in a brand new episode called ‘Lisa goes Gaga’in which the singer teaches young Lisa how to gain some self-esteem through the power of speech and song. But Lisa isn't the only female member of the Simpsons who will be getting attention from the Poker Face singer. Apparently she will be puckering up for some girl on girl action with Lisa's mum Marge. Trust Gaga.

Even though she's used to performing to packed stadiums across the world, the star revealed she found the whole experience 'a little nerve-wracking.’Speaking to Heat Magazine she explained: ‘I make music, but I don’t do voice-overs every day of the week, and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humor.’

In an uncharacteristically down-to-earth way, Gaga confided that she felt humbled by the experience: ‘I would say this is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. My dad’s probably going to do 80 backflips when the episode comes out.’

The only downside to all this is.....the episode is not going to come out until 2012. Oh the suspense!
